FOSTER CARE RESOURCE NETWORK

         Where kids come first!

Foster parenting….

              You can too!

Welcome Home!

The Foster Care Resource Network is a not for profit organization devoted to families in Region 3 North—Pierce and Kitsap Counties in Washington State.  We believe every child deserves to have a happy home and a caring family. We know however, that not all children are born into loving families but that families can be created. Foster Care Resource Network supports those who support children—be they foster or adoptive parents, relative caregivers or fictive kin. We offer mentoring to those considering obtaining a foster license; support for newly licensed families; support groups that address a variety of issues concerning the family; monthly dinner meetings with free training; seasonal family oriented activities and an on site clothing bank.

We are located at:

7829 Pacific Avenue, Tacoma WA 98404

(253) 473-9252

Who are foster parents?

Foster parents are just like you and me. We are young; middle aged and sometimes more mature. We are single, married or couples. We own or rent, live in the city or in rural areas. Some of us have adopted, are looking to expand our families by adopting while others foster, have youth in long term guardianships or less formal arrangements. The one thing that brings us together is the knowledge that kids need good homes and families. We can do that!

Our Mission:

Foster Care Resource Network supports children in out of home care and the families that support them. It is our goal to ensure kids in relative and foster care have the same level of support as children in their biological homes. We do this by supporting caregivers with opportunities for training and to network monthly with a cadre of involved caregivers. Foster Care Resource Network supports kids and families  with a clothing bank to fill in the gaps. We sponsor several activities such as a winter holiday party and other events. Foster Care Resource Network has a cohort of mentors who provide answers and support those pursuing foster licensing through their first placement. We have monthly support groups that meet monthly to address a variety of issues facing parents today.
